US Bank officials said a computer glitch that prevented former workers of Consolidated Freightways from cashing their paychecks has been corrected.

Those former employees should be able to access their money now, according to the Minneapolis-based bank.
Earlier this week the glitch sent a systemwide warning to tellers instructing them to stop payment on certain Consolidated Freightways checks, officials said.
After 73 years in business, Vancouver, Wash.-based CF shut down suddenly on Labor Day, and filed for bankruptcy protection the following day. The closure affects 15,500 workers.
Late last week, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court approved a plan for CF to pay its more than 15,000 employees for work performed before the carrier closed its doors. Some 2,700 employees were kept on temporarily to clear freight out of the system.
