You can get a updated list at http://www.denverpost.com or by logging on to the Colorado Transportation Department at http://www.coloradodot.info. There have been some problems with the state DOT web site.

The state DOT describes the road closures as “far and wide” and is advising the public to avoid travel unless absolutely necessary in the following counties:

  • Boulder (where the City of Boulder is located)

  • Larimer (home to Ft. Collins)

  • Weld (eastern part of Ft. Collins)

  • Jefferson (western part of Denver)

  • Clear Creek (west of Denver along I-70)

  • Gilpin county (just north of I-70, west of Denver)

The flooding has forced thousand of people from their homes, killing at least three people with one missing.
