The Colorado Motor Carrier Association is recommending the state DOT to adopt a new type of truck runaway ramp on I-70's Straight Creek Canyon and on Wolf Creek Pass on U.S. 160. The systems work in a similar manner to aircraft carriers with nets that slow planes as they return to the ship. The systems have proven very successful and require less space.
