AT TMC’s 2025 Annual Meeting in Nashville, Cojali USA showcased its latest innovations, designed to maximize uptime, streamline repairs, and enhance efficiency for modern fleets.
Cris Palomanes, director of OEM sales and business development, North America, for Cojali, noted that Jaltest Diagnostics and Telematics deliver comprehensive vehicle insights. He said these range from fault detection to predictive maintenance, making fleet operations more efficient and cost-effective.
Hands-Free Diagnostics with Augmented Reality
But Cojali’s commitment to fleet maintenance goes beyond conventional solutions, Palomanes added. The company is also focused on bridging the gaps that slow down repairs.
One of those gaps is the disconnect between on-screen diagnostics and hands-on troubleshooting, which led, three years ago, to the R&D project Jaltest AR.
Palomanes said every technician knows the challenge of switching back and forth between a diagnostic screen and the vehicle, tracing wiring diagrams, reading fault codes, and then trying to apply that information in real time.
This process, he noted, is repeated countless times throughout the day. And it adds up to lost efficiency, increased frustration, and extended downtime.
That’s why, three years ago, Cojali set out to find a solution, Palomanes added.
The result is Jaltest AR. This is a new research and development project aimed at bringing diagnostics directly into the technician’s field of view.
Instead of breaking focus to check a screen, AR-powered glasses overlay diagnostic data onto the actual vehicle, ensuring that fault codes, schematics, and technical information are available in real time.
With this technology, Palomanes said, technicians no longer have to worry about losing track of wiring diagrams, forgetting key diagnostic details, or struggling to match schematics to real-world components.
Everything a technician needs is right in front of them, reducing errors and improving efficiency, he noted.
AR Glasses in Development
This is just the beginning of Cojali’s push into cutting-edge diagnostic technologies, Palomanes said.
The development of Jaltest AR continues to focus on solving real-world repair challenges, filling in the gaps where traditional tools fall short, and pushing the limits of what’s possible in fleet maintenance.
By cutting unnecessary steps and streamlining diagnostics, Cojali USA remains committed to reducing downtime to the max, Palomanes said.
“Our AR glasses are designed to solve real challenges in the shop, giving technicians the tools they need to work smarter and faster,” Palomones explained. “Through those glasses, technicians will be able to view software screens, menu options and wiring diagrams that are similar to the Jaltest software they would access on a computer.”
