C2 Inc. has announced the acquisition of Birkmire Trucking Co., a regional freight services provider based in Erie, Pa., by its wholly-owned subsidiary, Total Logistic Control (TLC).
Birkmire's operations serve primarily the food industry with refrigerated and dry transportation. The addition of Birkmire's fleet -- which consists of 44 tractors and 101 trailers -- brings TLC's fleet to more than 400 tractors and 700 refrigerated and dry trailers. Birkmire's operations are highly complementary to TLC's fleet services, which currently include the operation of a terminal and regional office in Erie.
William T. Donovan, C2 president and CEO, said, "This acquisition is an excellent fit with our existing operations. It increases our fleet by more than 10% and brings well established customers, a number of which we currently serve. It is an opportunity for us to develop and grow new customer relationships and solidifies our presence in the Northeast."
