Bobbie J. Bynum of Cartersville, GA, was selected as the National Driver of the Year by Ryder Transportation Services at the annual awards banquet in Miami, FL.
Bynum is employed by ATCO Rubber Products and has been a professional driver for 33 years, logging 3.6 million miles without an accident or moving violation.
Unanimously selected by a national committee, Bynum's qualifications surpassed 130,000 other drivers. In addition to his outstanding record, he was honored because of customer service, community involvement and support for his family.
"We are delighted to honor Bobbie Bynum as our National Driver of The Year," said Jim Griffin, president of Ryder Transportation Services. "His commitment to his family, community and professional driving have earned him the admiration of neighbors, colleagues and the customers he serves."
Ryder has also honored Bynum with other awards; district driver of the month, district driver of the year, and region driver of the year. He has also demonstrated several acts of heroism during his career, such as rescuing occupants from a burning car.
