ATD Announces Nominees for 2014 Commercial Truck of the Year

The American Truck Dealers announced the seven nominees for the 2014 ATD Commercial Truck of the Year, an annual award recognizing the top truck entries in the heavy- and medium-duty categories.
The heavy-duty nominees are International ProStar with Cummins ISX15, Kenworth T880 Vocational Truck with Paccar MX-13 engine and Peterbilt Model 579. The medium-duty (Class 3-7) nominees are Hino 195h-DC, International TerraStar 4x4, Kenworth Class 6 K370 Cabover and Peterbilt Model 220.
The award recognizes a winner in each category. The winners will be announced Sunday, Jan. 26, during the 2014 ATD Convention & Expo, which runs concurrently with the National Automobile Dealers Association Convention & Expo in New Orleans from Jan. 24-27.
The winners will be determined by a panel of journalists, who will test drive and evaluate the trucks at the Manheim’s auction site in Orlando, Fla., on Oct. 18. The judging categories include innovation, design, safety and driver satisfaction.
