The Arkansas House this week sent Gov. Mike Huckabee a bill that gives tax breaks to truckers.

House approval of the bill followed agreement to a watered-down Senate version of legislation meant to encourage truckers to return to the state, according to the Associated Press.
If signed by the governor, the bill would limit the state sales tax on heavy duty trucks to the first $9,150 of the cost, and limit the tax on trailers to the first $1,000.
The current measure followed weeks of negotiations and resulted in a tax cap higher than the one the House passed in January.
New rules in Oklahoma require truckers who register vehicles there to also have actual physical operations in that state. Companies have until the end of the month to set up shop or lose their registrations.
The caps are expected to limit the sales tax to about $450 on a truck and about $51 on a trailer.
