Arkansas-based USA Truck Inc. has announced the official opening of its newest regional operations center, located in Spartanburg, S.C. The new facility will provide an operational base for the company’s short- to medium-haul dry van truckload
services in the Southeastern United States.
The Spartanburg operations center is the third regional operations center in the company’s growing Regional Freight division, which also includes regional operations centers in Van Buren, Ark., and Butler Township, Ohio.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Robert M. Powell said USA Truck’s southe3ast region will initially operate from a leased 12-acre facility in Spartanburg at the strategic intersection of Interstate 85 and Interstate 26. The facility includes 6,000 square feet of office space, 16,000 square feet of driver training space and a five-bay maintenance facility. The Southeast Region will initially consist of 60 tractors and is expected to create 20 new jobs for the local economy in the areas of dispatch, driver recruiting and driver training.
