GEOCOMtms, a Georgia-based provider of fleet management solutions for local pickup and delivery, has released A.MAZE Mobile, a program that puts dispatch,
route accounting, inventory control and customer service capabilities in the palm of the driver’s hand. Developed in a joint partnership with BizSpeed, an enterprise software and services company that develops business applications for mobile, wireless, and web users, A.MAZE Mobile is a handheld solution that delivers all of these capabilities within a fully integrated fleet management platform.
“Improving communication between dispatchers and drivers is of critical importance to companies that operate their own fleet,” said Michael Nark, president and chief executive officer of GEOCOMtms.
A.MAZE Mobile is specifically designed for dynamic environments where dispatchers need to stay closely connected to drivers in the field. Managing intraday communications via telephone or walkie-talkie can be difficult. The mobile solution ensures effective communication by enabling organizations to stay connected with drivers, no matter what handheld devices they are using. Turn-by-turn directions are always available electronically, when a driver needs them. And if plans need to change during the day, updated stop assignments and directions can be pushed out automatically, without dispatcher intervention.
“In many industries, the driver in the field is the primary point of contact between a company and its customers,” stated Chris Henry, president and chief executive officer of BizSpeed Inc. “That means the driver can have a big impact on customer satisfaction. Giving him the ability to confirm deliveries on the spot, for instance, and in particular making sure that quantities and pricing are right, improves invoice accuracy, which is definitely important to customers. The ability to help companies deliver better service is one of the things that make A.MAZE Mobile so powerful.”
A core component of the A.MAZE suite, A.MAZE Mobile integrates seamlessly with back office applications such as accounting and order management, allowing users to streamline operations and improve efficiencies. In addition to dispatch, the solution also provides account management tools that enable companies to deliver better service in the field. Service personnel can access account history and service contracts, complete detailed inspection reports, and document onsite maintenance activities. Drivers can help reduce billing errors by recording actual delivery quantity at each stop and confirm delivery via electronic signature capture. Invoices and work orders can also be generated automatically, thereby reducing billing errors and omissions.
Other advanced features include:
- Automatic management and reporting of planned versus actual route deviations
- The ability to track drivers and locations and confirm deliveries
- Intelligent re-optimization of routes based on actual versus planned route comparisons.
