components. Release 3.0 of GlobatTRACS will use up to four sensors to monitor customer-determined construction equipment thresholds and durations, providing instant alerts to help prevent expensive damage to engines, transmissions and hydraulics.
The sensors will also provide non-critical alert monitoring and historical data delivered on pre-determined schedules for use by maintenance personnel to spot potential problems.
The GlobalTRACS introduced in 2003 is a turnkey equipment management system offering ruggedized hardware, network services and data integration capabilities. GlobalTRACS automatically collects, organizes and transmits vital information about where, when and how construction equipment is being used.
At the same time, Qualcomm announced that through an agreement with the Bobcat Co., it has been approved as a provider of telematics products for the Bobcat lines of light and compact construction equipment.
"This agreement provides our customers with the option of purchasing Qualcomm’s GlobalTRACS solution through the extensive Bobcat dealer network. GlobalTRACS can be used on the full Bobcat line of compact equipment, including compact track loaders, skid-steer loaders, all-wheel steer loaders, compact excavators, Toolcat utility work machines, utility vehicles and more," said Lane Weber, sales manager for Bobcat.
