Internet giant Google has launched a beta test version of Google SMS, a service for use on cell phones.

SMS stands for Short Messge Service.
Cell phone subscribers will be able to run a Google search for almost any type of information phones. According to Google, users will enter a query as a text message, then send the message to 46645 -- GOOGL on most phones.
They will receive a text message with results, usually within a minute. Results may be labeled as "1of3", "2of3", etc. Users will be abl to get Google SMS help info sent to their phone by sending the word 'help' as a text message to 46645.
Initially, users will be able to get business and residential listings, product prices and word definitions. But more services will be added as the service launches and gains traction.
