LTL technology provider SMC3, Peachtree City, Ga., has announced that its 49th annual winter meeting will be held Jan. 20 and 21 at the Renaissance Concourse Hotel in Atlanta.
SMC3 to Host 49th Annual Winter Meeting

The two-day conference, called “Information: The Catalyst for Connecting Relationships, Technology and Communication,” will provide shipper, carrier, logistics and technology professionals with information to enhance their transportation decisions in 2004.
Highlights will include sessions on hypermediaries, electronic information management, effective communication, and updates on the economy, energy and transportation legislation.
According to SMC3, Hypermediaries are an emerging informational and physical medium that is redefining the relationship between shippers and carriers.
A panel of supply chain experts will discuss hypermediaries from the shipper, carrier and provider prospective. University of Oregon Supply Chain Professor Dr. Susan Golicic, and Texas Tech University Marketing Professor Dr. Donna Davis, will be among the expert panelists.
In addition:
--Daniel Klaussen will discuss Effectively Managing Electronic Information.
--Dr. Donald Ratajczak, will deliver predictions for 2004.
--Dr. Michael Economides will discuss the latest trends and concerns of various sources of energy.
--John R. Bagileo will discuss and translate the latest developments and initiatives in transportation legislation.
SMC3’s annual meetings promote personal and professional development information and opportunities. The winter meeting’s personal development segment, The Edge, will be an interactive lesson on different personalities, and how optimizing their strengths and weaknesses can reinforce teamwork.
