MobileGates, La Palma, Calif., announced an agreement with AT&T Wireless to provide subscribers with compatible mobile phones direct access to TrafficMobile personalized, real-time route-specific traffic and traveler information
delivered via text alerts (e-mail and wireless phone), the Internet and wireless devices.
TrafficMobile allows subscribers to monitor roads and highways or change and add highways to monitor right from the mobile phone or wireless PDA.
Under the agreement, AT&T Wireless mMode customers can subscribe to TrafficMobile, which provides real-time traffic information such as accidents, highway congestion and construction incidents that are sent right to the users mobile phone, based on user defined times and days of the week.
"AT&T Wireless mMode users now have access to personalized national traffic information right from the palm of their hands," said Anthony Meador, founder and president of MobileGates. "Our new intelligent algorithm push-technology provides personalized information that is critical to mobile commuters and travelers, especially finding out about accidents via their wireless phone prior to getting trapped in traffic."
TrafficMobile will incorporate more advanced features in the near future, including voice powered GPS that provides information such as "where am I (longitude and latitude) and where (highways) are the traffic incidents that will affect the time that it takes to get to my destination."
