The consolidation will eliminate 150 to 200 jobs in the field and bring administrative support staff, systems, payroll, purchasing and other staffers to the Florida location. Remaining in the field will be operations, sales, driver recruitment and probably customer-service personnel. Some Transit Group employees have already moved to the new location, and group executives say they will add 60 to 100 workers before the move is completed in October.
K.L. Harring Transportation has announced a driver pay raise that increases the base pay rate for team drivers to 70 cents per mile.
