Seattle-based nPassage has enhanced the web-based transportation management system that provides shipment tendering and tracking across modes at www.npassage.com.
The first enhancement, called Rating and Routing, allows shippers to select the best carrier for a given shipment based on that shipper's existing freight contracts.
The second, called Offline Participant Support, extends the system's reach to carriers that are not yet web-enabled. According to nPassage, the system now communicates with carriers even if that means using e-mail or mail rather than the web or EDI.
Recent Class 8 trade volumes have been lower than predicted, which means pricing has been more stable than expected for used trucks, according to J.D. Power & Associates.
