A combined effort by CompuNet Credit Services and the Truckload Carriers Assn., Dock Report is an interactive web site that allows carriers to report things such as wait time, additional charges such as gate fees and lumper fees, and the efficiency of paperwork handling. Information will also be gathered on the availability of facilities for drivers, and services expected from the driver, including loading, unloading, sorting and segregating.
Earlier this year, the TCA's Improving Efficiency Task Force brought shippers, receivers, carriers and industry affiliates together to address dock management problems. One of the outcomes of those meeting is this web site.
