Samsara has announced a new partnership with Uber Freight to decrease the cost of compliance and increase efficiency for shippers, carriers, and drivers.

As part of the partnership, Uber Freight will recommend Samsara as a strategic technology partner for eligible fleets with six or more vehicles. Eligible carriers will receive the following discounts on Samsara’s ELD and trailer tracking solutions, with a maximum discount of $25,000 under the program:

  • $50 discount per ELD: Uber Freight is offering a $50 discount per Samsara Vehicle Gateway (VG34), an FMCSA-approved ELD that offers live-to-the-second GPS tracking, WiFi hotspot connectivity, and streamlined HOS logging. VG34s can also be used in tandem with Samsara AI dash cams for driver safety, coaching, and exoneration.
  • $20 discount per trailer tracker: Uber Freight is also offering a $20 discount per Samsara Asset Gateway (AG24), which can be separately attached to trailers to provide continuous visibility into load location.

As part of the discount program, participating carriers will share their device data with Uber Freight from Samsara’s open API. With better visibility into load location, Uber Freight carriers can reduce tracking calls to drivers and automate detention processing, according to the company.

“We’re excited to partner with Samsara to offer discounts that help carriers lower their overhead costs and manage their fleets more efficiently,” said Guy Peterson, senior business development manager at Uber Freight.

In the future, the partnership will unlock additional benefits for participating Uber Freight carriers, including early access to preferred loads and quicker payments.

“With a seamless integration between Samsara and Uber Freight, carriers and shippers will benefit from improved visibility and more efficient load matching,” said Iain Denham, senior director of global partner sales at Samsara.
