Heavy Duty Trucking magazine is hosting an upcoming free webinar about how fleets can stay on top of and even lower their maintenance costs.

Maintenance costs can add significantly to a fleet's cost of ownership, especially today with so many chronic repair problems stemming from unreliable technology. If you can't make the problems go away, you can often minimize their impact by staying ahead of them.

The webinar, “Measure Your Maintenance Spend to Find More Savings,” will take place on Aug. 29, 2019, at 2 p.m. EDT. HDT Equipment Editor Jim Park will lead a discussion between maintenance experts Darry W. Stuart and Greg Hart to explore how fleets can lower their maintenance costs.

Stuart is the founder and president of DWS Fleet Managment services, which provides fleet managment services and expertise to fleets. He has truck maintenance background and was an active member of the American Trucking Association's Technology & Maintenance Council, where he served as general chairman from 2007-08.

Hart is the owner of Hart & Hart Consulting, working with fleets to restructure maintenance processes and procedures, focusing on maintenance best practices, shop safety, parts room inventories, tire programs, equipment specs and costs.

The webinar will discuss how a one-size-fits-all spec is rarely the right spec for your operation and why the lowest-priced components usually aren’t your best option. It will also cover what to repair and what to replace when considering labor-intensive repairs and maintenance.
