According to PCT, since taking the helm Ellis has been “instrumental in leading the effort to create the first truly open platform for intelligent trailers, chassis, and containers. He directed the essential formation of important supplier partnerships and oversaw the recent acquisition of Connected Holdings, LLC in Newport Beach.”

“This is the first time in our 91-year history that we’ve had a non-Phillips family member earn a president’s title,” noted Rob Phillips, CEO of Phillips Connect Technologies.  “Bill has earned that milestone through his incredible work ethic and the inspiration he extends throughout the organization.  Bill has been the primary catalyst and driver responsible for most of our forward progress at PCT.”

Prior to joining PCT, Ellis had launched multiple startup companies as well as overseeing international investments and business strategy deployment. He holds a BA in Government Studies from Cornell University and an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Columbia Business School.  Ellis is a United States Navy veteran.

PCT has developed industrial IoT sensor interface products for commercial transportation applications. The company said its products are designed to “improve overall safety and security, reduce costs in fleet maintenance, and dramatically enhance fleet asset utilization.”  Product platforms include TrailerNet, ContainerNet, and ChassisNet.
