Haldex Commercial Vehicle Systems will consolidate its North American manufacturing operations by moving its production activities from Iola, Kan., to Monterrey, Mexico.
The Monterrey plant has been the primary brake actuator production facility since 2002, and recently expanded production by moving into a new 200,000 square-foot facility.

The Monterrey plant has also recently undergone an investment program.

"The investment in the Monterrey facility will significantly increase operational efficiencies and enable Haldex to better meet our North American commercial vehicle customer requirements," said Jay Longbottom, executive vice president and head of Commercial Vehicle Systems.

The company says the consolidation will take place during the third and fourth quarters of this year and won't interrupt operations. By investing in one site, the company will be able to more effectively use capital and human resources, Haldex said.

Haldex customers will be notified of the transfer of production between facilities.
