. The orders are part of a three-year contract worth $28.5 million, which calls for a total of 152 trucks. The models are made at the company's plant in Dublin, Va.

The most recent orders will bring the total to $20.2 million, but the Army has the option to order additional trucks beyond the original award. In May and June 2010, Mack will deliver 46 Vision Elite tractors with 70-inch high-rise sleepers, along with 35-ton lowboy trailers and spare parts.

"Mack's legacy of 'Bulldog-tough' military trucks meshes precisely with our leading-edge engineering, technology and comfort to meet the needs of today's military," said Tom Kelly, Mack senior vice president of product portfolio management.

Under a separate contract, Mack is also providing the rugged Mack Granite Elite tractor model to TACOM for use in frequently harsh on/off-highway operations.
