The American Trucking Associations will hold a video contest for National Truck Driver Appreciation Week 2009
. The ATA seeks one- to two-minute amateur videos on why professional truck drivers are needed.

The ATA will judge the videos on creativity and message, and the winner's video will be displayed on ATA's Truckline.com web site. Videos can be produced with a cell phone or home video cameras, as ATA will not be focused on production values.

The aim of the contest is to celebrate professional truck drivers and is being held in conjunction with National Truck Driver Appreciation Week 2009, which will take place Nov. 1-7. The deadline for contest submissions is Oct. 15.

Entries can be sent to ntdaw@trucking.org or American Trucking Associations, ATA Image and Outreach, 950 N. Glebe Road, Suite 210, Arlington, VA 22203. Submissions can also be posted to YouTube, tagged with "ATATrucksBringIt" and the URL emailed to ntdaw@trucking.org.
