The transaction involves adding 100 employees and contractors as well as nine new cities to Towne's trucking network.
The new cities in Texas include Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, McAllen, Brownsville, Laredo, Harlingen and Corpus Christi.
"Our overlapping values of customer care leave a clear path to incorporating Towne's nationwide Airport-to-Airport, local cartage, exclusive use trucking and warehouse services into the Texas market," said Tom Downey, Towne's president and CEO.
"This deal is a successful culmination of a business plan to eventually grow with a larger company," said Todd Bennett, CEO of Texas Land and Air.
Towne's acquisition of TXLA is its third acquisition in as many years.
