As of July 1, 2024, Brennan will be take over the Trucking helm from David Moniz. He has headed up SBF and Metro for more than two years.
George Brennan’s media career began with a degree in media advertising from Appalachian State, and he has since racked up more than 30 years of experience in print and digital media, including B2B. He operates out of Atlanta.
B2B Publishing Experience
Brennan’s B2B publishing experience, particularly in the waste and recycling segments, and his knowledge of how trucking manufacturers and suppliers reach and influence readers are just a few ways he expects to help the HDT brand continue to grow.
Before joining the Bobit team, Brennan was the national director of advertising sales for the Arthritis Foundation for 19 years. There, he led revenue-generating initiatives that funded the organization’s mission and proved he could spot growth opportunities.
He has been with the Bobit Transportation Group since February 2022.
Moniz, a publishing veteran of 39 years, began his career as a regional sales manager at Heavy Duty Trucking and worked his way up the ranks, then gained more B2B experience as publisher at other trucking and tire-related B2B brands before rejoining HDT as publisher in 2013.
He semi-retired as HDT publisher last year but has remained an active part of the HDT team while Bobit took time to find the right replacement. He will continue in a consulting capacity for several months during the transition.
'Great Media Brands Start with Great Content'
“Following in the footsteps of David Moniz and so many others, I am honored to now engage with Heavy Duty Trucking Media and Events brand for the next chapter in our ever-evolving legacy,” Brennan said.
Brennan will work closely with HDT Editor and Associate Publisher Deborah Lockridge, who has 34 years of experience covering the trucking industry and has been with HDT since 1998, and Executive Editor Jack Roberts, who has covered trucking since 1995.
“Great media brands start with great content, and with Deborah Lockridge and Jack Roberts at the wheel, I am rolling into exceptional company,” he said. “I look forward to meeting the top industry suppliers and fleet operators at HDTX 2024 this September in Scottsdale.”
