Aljex Software of Middlesex, N.J., reported record sales for 2008, with an overall 39 percent increase in subscription sales over 2007.
Aljex is a provider of hosted management software for freight brokers, carriers, logistics companies, and other transportation providers.

In the latter part of 2008, Aljex signed Trinity Transport, a third party logistics provider in North America, among others. Aljex reported strong sales in first half of the year as well, despite the yearlong downward trend in the economy.

Since Aljex is hosted on the Internet, software upgrades are immediately available to all users at no additional charge. Traditional software providers charge customers for updated software, usually marked by version number. Aljex upgrades, improvements, and tweaks are made weekly.

During 2008, Aljex introduced innovations such as TIN, a Google map-based, user-friendly system for 3PLs and brokers. TIN stands for Transportation Intermediaries Network and includes free broker-to-carrier EDI.

Other innovations included versatile document management, an Aljex load board and available equipment board, and enhancements to Aljex's exclusive SmartSearch function. SmartSearch enables automated offering of loads to and acceptance by trusted carriers.
