CTL Transportation, a national tank truck company based in Mulberry, Fla., with 11 terminal locations, announced an increase to its company driver pay package.

These changes, which took effect Jan. 1, include significant increases in the longevity pay for CTL's existing drivers as well as for newly hired experienced drivers.

CTL's longevity pay schedule is designed to compensate drivers based on their tractor-trailer driving experience. With these changes, CTL has also added additional pay to its accessorial pay items as well as increased some pay schedule stages. The average annual pay increase for CTL's professional tank truck company drivers is between $1,500 and $2,500.

"In light of current economic conditions, this pay increase should especially indicate our commitment to our professional driving force," said Ken Bauer, president of CTL.

CTL Transportation is the dominant carrier for the phosphate and fertilizer industry in Florida. CTL joined Comcar Industries in 1985.
