The 2020 event had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Initially the organizers had scheduled it for its typical May time slot, but “as we continue to monitor the COVID-19 virus impact and the timing of the vaccine rollout, the HDTX team has determined that May is too soon to move forward with the 2021 event,” organizers said.

The awards ceremony and panel discussion for HDT’s Truck Fleet Innovators this year will honor both the 2020 winners and this year’s winners.

The 2021 agenda is still being finalized, but in addition to the Innovators awards and panel, HDTX 2021 will also include a keynote speech from Col. Dan Rooney, roundtable discussions, a personalized schedule of one-on-one appointments with supplier hosts, focus groups, and meals and social/networking opportunities. Additional speakers to be announced.

“The new dates for the event provide a revitalized confidence that all in attendance will have an opportunity to be vaccinated by the time the event takes place,” organizers said. Precautions will still be taken at the event to minimize risks from the novel coronavirus as recommended at that time by public health experts.

Fleet managers must apply to attend HDTX. Those who are accepted will be the guests of HDT and the event supplier hosts, with travel, lodging, and meals paid for. Last year’s accepted fleets will be welcome at this year’s event, but there are still limited spots available.
