Cox, a resident of Woodhaven, Mich., started with the company's Specialized division last
August, but still managed to surpass other Maverick drivers in recruiting other drivers. As winner, he will receive a vacation package valued at $1,700, another $500 in spending cash and a week of vacation.
Cox said he talks with drivers on the road and occasionally visits the school where he earned his CDL. Quite often however, he said he is approached by drivers from other companies at truckstops asking about Maverick.
Maverick implements a comprehensive Driver Referral Program annually with an emphasis on rewarding employees for their dedication to the fleet and the future of the company. Each employee with a referral hired receives a cash bonus, and the person with the most hires throughout the year is awarded a vacation package and spending money along with a week of vacation for their referral efforts.
