The Work Truck Show has announced the recipients of its Innovation and Green awards. The Innovation Award was presented to Chelsea Products for its 249V Series power take-off. The Green Award was presented to Miller Electric Mfg. Co. for its EnPak power system.

Chelsea’s 249V Series PTO prevailed over more than 100 other new products to win the Innovation Award, according to organizers. All products entered in The Work Truck Show 2015 New Product Spotlight and New Product Media Guide programs were eligible. A judging panel of truck fleet managers and trade media editors made its final decision after visiting exhibitors during the show to gather and evaluate product details.

Developed for the Ford F-Series Super Duty line of trucks, the 249V Series PTO provides flow of up to 23 GPM and pressure of 3,500 PSI at 1,200 engine RPM, as well as torque capacity of 200 lb-ft. It features a single hose connection, and an integrated cartridge valve and pressure switch for easy installation, according to the manufacturer.

The Green Award recognizes the product at The Work Truck Show that best enhances work truck fuel utilization, as determined by a panel of truck fleet managers and trade media editors on behalf of the event’s producer, NTEA – The Association for the Work Truck Industry.

Miller’s EnPak is an integrated power system that includes a rotary screw air compressor, hydraulic pump and generator, all powered by a 24.8 horsepower diesel engine. EnPak has exclusive systems to monitor user load requirements and adjust engine speed to match, plus auto start/stop technology and the EnVerter power system to efficiently power tools at low engine speeds.

When combined, the EnPak power system’s efficiency features can reduce fuel use by up to 30 percent, according to the manufacturer. The system also remains fully functional when the vehicle is turned off, enabling typical users to cut idle time by up to 50 percent and extend the life of their vehicles.
