Wal-Mart Stores Inc. recently recognized FedEx Corp. as the recipient of the company's annual Carrier of the Year award.

"FedEx Corp. operating companies FedEx Express and FedEx Ground have provided outstanding service for Wal-Mart," said David Reiff, Wal-Mart vice president for logistics. "It is our pleasure to recognize their associates for commitment to quality and customer service."
This year, Wal-Mart recognized nine carriers for their outstanding service.
"FedEx continues to improve and expand its broad range of innovative shipping solutions to serve the diverse transportation needs of companies like Wal-Mart, and we welcome this award as further recognition of the value we add by enhancing Wal-Mart's supply chain and customer service," said Mike Glenn, FedEx executive vice president of market development and corporate communications. "Our dedicated employees and contractors value the relationship we have with the world's largest retailer, and we will continue the high levels of service and reliability that contributed to this honor for the fifth consecutive year."
Selection criteria for the award included revenue/growth, ease of doing business, communication, flexibility, customer service and follow-up and correction of errors.
