Effective Dec 30 UPS’ published rates for its services will increase. For package shipments, ground services and accessorial rates will increase an average net 4.9%.

For package shipments, ground services and accessorial rates will increase an average net 4.9%. The same hike will be made for UPS Air and international services and accessorial rates.
You can view a complete list of the new package surcharges, as well as a complete list of UPS Air Freight rates for shipments originating in the 48 contiguous states, along with a complete list of U.S. origin UPS Express Freight rates.
Earlier this month, the U.S. Postal Service indicated it plans to raise overall prices by 2.4%, provided a regulatory commission signs off on the hike, according to the Wall Street Journal. Meantime, FedEx has said in January it will increase shipping rates by an average of 3.9% at its domestic express-shipping business.
So far, neither UPS or FedEx has announced rate hikes with their more traditional trucking operations.
