Trimac Transportation continues to expand with the acquisition of Searcy Trucking, an open deck and heavy haul carrier based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
This acquisition strengthens Trimac’s strategic position in flat deck, LTL, and specialized services across Western Canada and the U.S. Midwest, according to a news release.
Trimac is based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
The company will retain the Searcy Trucking name and continue operations from its locations in Winnipeg and Altona, Manitoba. The leadership team will remain in place to ensure continuity.
Founded in 1969, Searcy Trucking operates a fleet of more than 120 trucks and 170 trailers, supporting industries including construction, agriculture and industrial manufacturing.
In addition to transportation, Searcy offers transloading, warehousing and distribution through its Universal Reload division.
“Searcy’s reputation for safe operations, integrity and specialized expertise aligns with our core values: Live Safety, Do the Right Thing and Rise to the Challenge,” said Matt Faure, President and CEO of Trimac, in a release.
Searcy brings a number of specialized capabilities to Trimac:
Its Universal Reload division, based in Winnipeg, provides transloading and warehousing services with 20,000 square feet of indoor storage and direct rail access.
A logistics division offers transportation management and both heated and dry storage options.
Searcy owns one of the largest private fleets of Removable Goose Neck trailers in Western Canada, including up to 9-axle configurations that allow them to handle oversized, complex freight.
The company has received multiple industry safety awards and maintains top-tier safety ratings from both Canadian and U.S. regulators.
This acquisition follows Trimac’s recent purchase of Watt & Stewart and continues the company’s focus on building a leading platform in flat deck and heavy haul services.
Founded in 1945, Trimac Transportation is a major provider of bulk transportation services across North America. It operates in the chemical, energy, mining, food-grade, and specialized hauling sectors.
