Officials at Smithway Motor Xpress are looking for a truck driver who witnessed at accident involving an SMX truck in May.
A Smithway Motor Xpress contractor was struck by an automobile on U.S. 71 at the intersection of Highway 126 near Lemar, Mo., on May 8, at about 11:30 p.m. An unknown semi truck driver was northbound on U.S. 71 observed the car driver and the accident. He stopped immediately after the collision and rendered aid at the accident scene until police arrived. Police failed to obtain the name of the driver.
SMX officials are asking anyone with knowledge of the truck driver who witnessed the accident or have any information regarding this accident to contact the SMX safety director at 1-800-247-4972, ext. 2204.
