Schneider National has completed the final stage of rolling out its regional service with the addition of its Northeast regional service
, available to shippers in Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont. With the new service, the company now offers regional service to 48 states.
"As customers continue to explore ways to improve their supply chains, they're finding that regional service is a smart solution for the total length of haul," said Marc Rogers, senior vice president and general manager of Schneider Van Truckload.
The company's Northeast service will focus on shipments that are 500 miles or less, Rogers said. Schneider decided to accelerate the final regional expansion due to high customer demand.
CHEP Equipment Pooling Systems, which provides pallet and container pooling services, added Schneider's regional offering to its mode mix, which was primarily long haul. "Schneider National is an integral part of our long-term plans and our business network in the Northeast," said Bill Wade, vice president of logistics for CHEP Equipment Pooling Systems. "The company's reputation and dependability were important factors in our decision to work with Schneider."
