PeopleNet Announces New Integrations
PeopleNet announced new Road Call integration features between its fleet management system and TMW’s TNT Fleet Maintenance software that automates the way drivers alert fleet managers and maintenance personnel of breakdowns.

During TMW System’s user conference in Orlando, Sept. 14-15, Kerri Tabor, director integration services for PeopleNet said the new integration entails an electronic form drivers fill out from their cab. This automates a repair order with the fleet’s TNT maintenance software. The automation saves time and helps reduce mistakes, Tabor said, especially for dispatch personnel who no longer have to take a phone call from the driver, write down the information and then send that to the shop – essentially eliminating the “middle man” with an automated process.
Tabor said the integration allows TNT to support customized electronic driver inspection report defect lists. It also allows fleets the option of requiring the driver to acknowledge receiving repair completion forms from the maintenance system.
PeopleNet also announced that ALK’s CoPilot Truck is available on PeopleNet Android tablets, which were introduced last month. According to Tom Dorazo, PeopleNet director of product management, CoPilot truck previously was only available in PeopleNet’s Windows-based tablet.
