Vehicle lighting and harness manufacturer Optronics has launched geometric MCL Series marker/clearance lights, saying they offer a high-style alternative while using the same 3/4-inch hole.
Optronics’ MCL2300, MCL20, and MCL16T LED marker/clearance lights will enable trailer OEMs to create a signature, branded look for their vehicles. It also will provide broad customization options for owner-operator and small fleet owners for whom trailer appearance is important.
Optronics said the new geometrically shaped marker/clearance lights are a marked departure from the conventional.
The new lights give customers the choice between round, oval, and rectangular lights. According to Optronics, these lights offer an increased light size while fitting into a standard 3/4-inch hole, courtesy of the included grommet.
The PC-rated lamps can be used as a combination side marker and front or rear clearance lights when mounted on an angle.
Three Light Choices
The three-diode MCL2300 lamp boasts a rectangular design measuring 2.31 inches wide, 1.43 inches tall, and 0.64 inches thick.
The three-diode MCL20 is an oval marker/clearance light measuring 1.875 inches wide, 1.5 inches tall, and 0.5 inches thick.
The single-diode MCL16T is a 1.25-inch diameter round light with a 1.31-inch profile and stands out with its unique fluted lens pattern.
The MCL2300, MCL20, and MCL16T marker/clearance lights are in stock and available for shipping immediately.
Durability
The lamp’s lenses are made of tough polycarbonate material that is sonically welded and resistant to dust and moisture. A solid-state, surface-mount device design protects the electronics against moisture, shock, and vibration, according to the company.
Optronics said these lamps come with a no-hassle, one-diode lifetime warranty protection that will replace a lamp if even one diode fails.
Installation and Use
Optronics said the new marker/clearance lights are ideal for a variety of vehicles and applications, including work trucks, dry vans, reefers, box trucks, and more.
“The lights are versatile and easily installed without any need for retooling, maintaining the same manufacturing process that our OEMs are accustomed to,” explained Michael Whitman, director of production management for Optronics. “Despite the different shapes, they still fit into the 3/4-inch cutout hole that’s become the industry norm.”
