Old Dominion Freight Line has expanded its less-than-truckload services in Portland, Ore., and Chattanooga, Tenn. The company opened a brand new facility in Portland and renovated an existing service center in Chattanooga.

The new facility in Portland will serve as a local freight hub for Old Dominion’s LTL services. It features a significant upgrade from 84 dock doors at the previous location in the area to 136 at the new facility. The Portland Service Center will employ 147 people, including drivers, sales representatives, dock workers, mechanics and administration.

“The new facility in Portland is a significant investment for Old Dominion,” said Jeff Lorenzini, manager of the Portland facility. “With additional room for growth, the new facility will help solidify Old Dominon as the leading premium service carrier in the region.”

In Chattanooga, the company’s overhauled facility includes a 40% expansion to the loading dock and renovated offices for administrative employees. The refreshed service center employs 92 people.

“Much like the Chattanooga economy, Old Dominion has experience significant growth since we opened our first service center here nearly 30 years ago,” said Dennis Potts, service center manager. “This renovation will allow us to build upon current business levels.”
