Ol' Blue, USA (United Safety Alliance), of Van Nuys, Calif., announced upcoming developments in its continuing effort to promote highway safety education and improve relations between the motoring public, law enforcement and commercial drivers.
Founder R.J. Taylor will be the featured guest on the Loading Dock program (Sirius Radio Channel 147) on June 12 and June 19. He will be discussing the non-profit organization and talking about the appearance of the Ol' Blue, USA "Safety Center" and the "Ask The Law" programs at the Great West Truck Show - Las Vegas.
Texas Highway Patrol Sr. Trooper Monty Dial and former Nebraska State Patrol Staff Sgt. Jim Brokaw, who participate in Ol' Blue USA's award-winning Ask The Law radio and print column programs, will also be appearing on the Loading Dock program June 25-June 27. The officers will be on live for one hour (9 to 10 a.m. Central Time) answering driver's questions, discussing commercial vehicle safety and legal issues.
Ask The Law programs are an ongoing educational effort between Ol' Blue, USA and commercial law enforcement agencies designed specifically to have CMV drivers and fleets pose questions to law enforcement officials relating to safety and legal issues concerning commercial vehicles.
In addition, Ol' Blue, USA "Safety Center" will be at booth number 2536 at the Great West Truck Show - Las Vegas June 26-28, 2008.
The Ol' Blue, USA "Safety Center" is made up of Ol' Blue USA's antique 1951 tractor and 53-foot "rolling billboard" trailer that showcases sponsor's logos. It is a one-stop for highway safety education, gives visitors the opportunity to ask questions and voice their concerns on safety and legal issues concerning commercial motor vehicles to law enforcement officials.
The "Safety Center" also features simulated roadside vehicle and other safety inspections. Conducted with the help of state law enforcement officers, these inspections help educate truck drivers on important procedures.
Ol' Blue, USA will also have an Ask The Law booth as part of its "Safety Center". Drivers and fleet's representatives are encouraged to stop by and meet with the law enforcement officers who participate in the Ask The Law programs.
There will also be hourly free seminars on Hours-of-Service regulations, logbook demonstrations and hands-on training on Pre- and Post-Trip inspections.
