Navistar has issued a recall for certain 2017-2019 model year International HX severe duty trucks for an improperly installed air supply line which could cause issues with the stability control.

On certain trucks equipped with a dual air brake system, antilock brakes, and electronic stability control, an air supply line was improperly routed. The problem doesn’t affect normal brake operation, however, during a stability control oversteer event in slippery conditions, the parking brakes may be modulated unintentionally.

The recall potentially affects 72 HX models with a GVWR of 33,001 pounds to 55,001 pounds and over that were produced from Dec. 08, 2015 to Feb. 10, 2018.

Navistar will notify owners, and dealers will reroute the SR7 roll stability valve supply line to the ATR6 brake control valve control port free of charge. The customer and dealer notification letters are expected to be mailed by July 2, 2018. Owners can contact Navistar directly. Navistar’s number for the recall is 18504.
