Motive and Geico have launched a partnership linking fleet telematics and safety data to potential commercial auto insurance discounts, part of Geico's ongoing expansion into the commercial market.

As a preferred partner in Geico's DriveEasy Pro telematics program, Motive enables new Geico policyholders in participating states to qualify for savings of up to 10% when they install Motive’s Driver Safety and Fleet Management products and agree to share dash-cam and ELD data.

The companies said the partnership aims to address rising commercial auto insurance premiums driven by increased crash severity and nuclear verdicts. Multi-million-dollar jury awards reached record highs in 2024, and roadway fatalities remain elevated.

Geico is seeking to broaden competition in the commercial auto space, while Motive continues to position its AI-driven safety technology as a tool for reducing risk and claims.

“Partnering with Geico turns safety into a business advantage, unlocking risk insights and lowering costs,” said Ian White, head of insurance partnerships at Motive.

The program is now available for new Geico policyholders in select states, with national expansion planned through 2026. Existing customers are expected to gain access later. Geico joins more than 40 carriers, MGAs, and captives participating in Motive’s Insurance Partner Program.

Program Capabilities and Fleet Impact

By integrating with Motive’s Driver Safety and Fleet Management products, participating fleets gain access to real-time data tied to risk, vehicle health, and compliance. Motive’s AI-driven tools analyze distracted driving, fatigue, and following-distance violations, helping fleets intervene earlier. Automated collision reports can speed claims resolution, while event video can support driver exoneration in disputed incidents.

Additional capabilities include full-fleet visibility into vehicle location, utilization, and diagnostic data; video-based driver coaching tools; and compliance support for FMCSA requirements.

“As we expand our commercial trucking insurance offerings nationwide, partnerships like this with Motive are essential,” said Rishi Arora, head of commercial product and pricing at Geico.

“Incentivizing Geico policyholders to install Motive’s safety and fleet management technologies underscores our shared mission of improving road safety.”
