Midwest Coast Transport Takes Home the Trophies

Midwest Coast Transport, Sioux Falls, S.D., took trophies in each of the eight classes of competition at the recent South Dakota Truck Driving Championships.
The company also won the Team Trophy for the all around team high score.
First-place winners were John Gacke in the four-axle class and Ron Shafer in the five-axle class. They are both now headed to the Nationals in Columbus, Ohio in August.
Rich Proctor, flatbed class and Loren Ver Hey, five-axle sleeper class, each took second place. The third-place finishers were Dave Blom in the straight truck class, Bernie Weber in the three-axle class, Bob Wells in the tanker class and Billy Kilian in the twin trailer class.
Other winners were Dan Norgaard, who competed in the tanker class and won the trophy for the best-written test score, and Al Moore, a rookie who competed in the three-axle class and finished as a runner up behind Bernie Weber.
