LifeGuard RollTek Seatbelts Offered on New Freightliner Cascadia
LifeGuard Technologies has introduced LifeGuard RollTek side roll protection to the heavy trucking industry, available now on the Freightliner Cascadia Class 8 truck.

LifeGuard Technologies has introduced LifeGuard RollTek side roll protection to the heavy trucking industry, available now on the Freightliner Cascadia Class 8 truck.
LifeGuard RollTek combines side airbag protection with the latest advancements in seatbelt technology. In a rollover, RollTek deploys within a quarter of a second to minimize driver movement, increase survivable space and cushion head and neck impact, significantly reducing the potential for death or serious injury.
"Of all the fatalities in large commercial trucks, more than half can be attributed to rollovers," said Larry Gray, general manager of LifeGuard Technologies. "We are pleased that RollTek side roll protection is now available to Freightliner customers."
"The Reverse Ejector Seat in the Cascadia is an important new safety technology for over-the-road trucks," said Jonathan Randall, director of product marketing for Freightliner Trucks. "Our partnership with LifeGuard Technologies represents Freightliner's ongoing commitment to lead the industry in addressing driver safety issues."
The Cascadia by Freightliner is the first over-the-road truck that is available with LifeGuard RollTek. In January, Oshkosh introduced RollTek as an option on its S-Series front discharge mixers, and by the end of 2007, the majority of manufacturers of custom fire apparatus will offer RollTek side roll protection.
