Lawrence Transportation Systems will purchase the trucking operations of Virginia-based William Edwards Inc.
, according to reports by the News Leader. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Lawrence will likely extend job offers to William Edwards employees, and William Edwards will continue operating its warehouse in Verona and its fleet in Covington, the News Leader reports.
Lawrence expects the move to provide $10 million of additional revenue per year. The deal should close in October.
