Kenworth released the 2022 Heavy Duty Body Builder manual, which offers detailed information and guidelines useful in the truck body planning and installation processes.
The manual is specific to chassis with 2021 EPA emissions level engines and focuses on the Class 8 Kenworth T680, T880, T880S and W990 models equipped with the 2.1-meter wide cab.
Early in the vehicle definition and ordering process, body builders can often contribute valuable information that reduces the ultimate cost of the body installation. This information helps to ensure that the truck is specified correctly, and will be ready and set up appropriately for efficient turnaround by the body builder, Kenworth officials said in a press release.
The 194-page manual provides detailed sections on safety and compliance, dimensions, PTO mounting and programming, exhaust and aftertreatment, frame layouts, body mounting, frame modifications, CAN communication, electrical, and routing.
