Jevic Transportation Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of SCS Transportation, has been named 2005 Carrier of the Year by the National Small Shipments Traffic Conference (NASSTRAC) and Logistics Management magazine.
Jevic received the award, based solely on customer input, for demonstrating excellence in performance and results in the Multi-Regional Coverage Category.
NASSTRAC is an organization of transportation industry professionals dedicated to providing and promoting advocacy, education, provider relationships and networking opportunities to its members. The organization’s fall conference will focus on new legislation affecting the industry, and feature valuable insights from logistics practitioners, legal analysts, consultants, NASSTRAC legal counsel and other industry experts.
The 2005 Carrier of the Year awards program took place during the NASSTRAC fall conference on Monday, Sept. 26 at 1 p.m. at the Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel in Baltimore, Md. Jevic President and CEO David Gorman accepted the award on the company’s behalf, and spoke briefly at the ceremony.
Shippers who are members of NASSTRAC are given the opportunity to grade their carriers on a four-point quantitative scale. Grading criteria include the following five areas: customer service, operational excellence, pricing, business relationship and leadership/technology.
Jevic customers rated the company higher in these areas than others, giving Jevic the top scores in the Multi-Regional Coverage Category.
