G&P Selects GE VeriWise Trailer Tracking
GE TIP, Devon, Pa., a division of GE Equipment Services, announced that G&P Trucking Co. Inc. has chosen the GE VeriWise trailer tracking solution

GE TIP, Devon, Pa., a division of GE Equipment Services, announced that G&P Trucking Co. Inc. has chosen the GE VeriWise trailer tracking solution.
G&P Trucking is a truckload carrier based in Columbia, S.C. that operates 10 terminals throughout the Southeast. The company handles all trade, except for liquid bulk and explosives, with a fleet of more than 1,500 vans. According to GE TIP, installation will start with 200 recently purchased trailers; the truckload carrier ultimately plans to outfit its entire fleet.
G&P will use the XML (eXtensible Markup Language) feed option available with GE Verwise to integrate with its internal fleet management software.
G&P operates out of multiple terminals throughout the Southeast, each of which maintains a separate fleet. This provides better fleet utilization, more home time for drivers and a low driver turnover rate, but it also complicates equipment management. The company is looking to GE VeriWise to help manage its trailer fleet.
