FedEx Freight Names Reed Executive VP and COO

FedEx Freight Corp., Memphis, Tenn., has named Patrick L. Reed executive vice president and chief operating officer,
a new position reporting to President and CEO Douglas G. Duncan.
Reed previously served as president and CEO for FedEx Freight East. Larry C. Miller has been promoted from senior vice president to president and CEO of FedEx Freight East. FedEx Freight is a provider of regional and interregional LTL services in the U.S. and a subsidiary of FedEx Corp.
Reed will provide strategic management for FedEx Freight’s LTL operations in North America, including FedEx Freight East, FedEx Freight West and service to Canada and Mexico.
Miller will be responsible for managing all functional areas within FedEx Freight East, the largest operating company within the FedEx Freight segment.
FedEx Freight operates 329 service centers across the United States and employs more than 24,000. The company’s freight volumes reach up to 72,000 shipments a night during peak season. The company also implemented a no-fee, Money Back Guarantee a year ago.
