Dupre Logistics, Lafayette, La., has opened the Supply Chain Excellence Division to help clients solve complex supply chain needs.
Heading the new department is Dupre's most recent hire, Ian Gentis. As director of Supply Chain Excellence he will lead a team that creates customized supply chain solutions that lower total costs, improve service, and deliver strategic value for Dupre's clients.
Gentis joins Dupre' with over 25 years in the logistics industry in strategic and consulting roles. For many companies he has led the design and implementation of turn-around initiatives to improve profitability, achieve business goals, establish new capabilities, and to improve performance of their logistics operations.
With a bachelor's degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering from the University of Southern California and an Executive MBA from the University of Memphis, Gentis has extensive experience in the logistics industry with companies such as Schneider National, Greyhound Lines, Oliver Wyman, FedEx Corporation and The ServiceMaster Company. Additionally, Gentis spent 10 years as principal of a management consulting practice that specialized in strategy, performance improvement, new service development, and re-engineering.
