The driver involved in a heavily publicized wreck of a truck loaded with federal munitions has been cited for having a fraudulent log book.
According to The Charleston (W.V.) Gazette, Homer Settle, a driver with Missouri-based Tri-State Motor Transit, was at the wheel when his truck ran off the road Oct. 4 on Interstate 64 in the Charleston area. When his load of explosive powder overturned, the interstate was closed for almost 20 hours and residents within a mile were evacuated.
Settle's log book showed that his wife also his driving partner, was supposedly behind the wheel at the time of the crash.
Settle also was cited for failing to maintain control of his vehicle. He reportedly lost control of his rig when he choked on a sip of coffee.
